Abstract :
The Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS) is used by the military services for a variety of tactical activities. The U.S. Navy (USN) uses EPLRS to support its Amphibious Assault Direction System, and the U.S. Marine Corps uses the EPLRS radio for tactical data communications to the company level. There are 2 Navy programs; AADS Blue supporting blue, and Data Radio, blue supporting green). We conduct a study of a low fidelity CSMA network model using EPLRS parameters to assess the performance of EPLRS in a joint tactical warfare scenario. This work included modeling and simulation of traffic loads to assess the performance of the EPLRS CSMA communications. This is not an approved EPLRS model; rather it is an approach for assessing the performance of the EPLRS CSMA network2.
