Abstract :
Theoretical and experimental results are presented for a novel type of planar antenna for microwave frequencies. The antenna is an open-circuited resonator slot array using a high-order resonant mode. This type of planar radiator is ideally suited for high-temperature superconductor microwave applications requiring only a patterned HTS film on a dielectric substrate and a ground plane. The polarization state of the emitted radiation and the contribution of patch radiation from the resonator boundaries is also discussed
