Abstract :
Switching mode power supply is more prone to degradation and even failure In most electronic systems. Especially output electrolytic filter capacitor is the principal component leading to SMPS failure. The paper presents a feasible and precise fault diagnosis method to output electrolytic filter capacitor in SMPS. According to the method, we can realize real-time and online fault diagnosis to electrolytic filter capacitor by monitoring output-ripple voltage and finishing failure-prewarning by setting a threshold.
