Abstract :
Since different 5-axis milling machines typically feature unique rotation mechanisms, the solution to generate NC (numerical control) code is traditionally targeted toward a specific mechanism and obtained via a specific method, normally resulting in complex algorithms. In order to solve this problem, this research proposes a spherical two-circle method which enables the development of a generic algorithm for the rotation mechanism of any 5-axis milling machine.
