  • Abstract
    A methodology for alternative equivalent designs of fuzzy controllers is presented in this paper. The major parts of fuzzy controllers based on fuzzy if-then rules are membership functions for fuzzification, inference mechanisms, composition operators, and defuzzification techniques. Each of these major parts may be selected from many possible candidates. With combinations of different choices for these major parts, equivalent fuzzy controllers are designed to have equivalent input-output mappings. Also, the relationships between centroid defuzzification method and other defuzzification techniques adopted here are discussed
