  • Abstract
Multicarrier modulation (MCM) techniques have received much attention due to their application in high speed wired as well as wireless communication systems. Their built-in redundancy (in the form of a cyclic prefix) has been used in various blind and semi-blind techniques for identifying the unknown channel response. In this work, approaches for equalizing the channel, using the structure of the transmitted signal, have been investigated. Taking into account the fact that a training signal is available in most communication systems for identifying and equalizing the channel, a semi-blind equalizer is proposed which combines the information from the training signal and the cyclic prefix for better estimation.
