Abstract
In this paper we discuss the problem of analysis and synthesis of Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK) systems by using a polytopic representation of the TSK fuzzy model. This allows us to derive the necessary and sufficient conditions for synthesis of polytopic TSK compensators. The closed loop TSK system under a polytopic TSK compensator is characterized with a stable characteristic polynomial that is not dependent on the firing levels of the rules. Procedures for calculation of the compensators are also presented
