Abstract :
The design of fuzzy controllers using the genetic algorithm appears as a systematic method by which fuzzy controllers are designed. This method easily provides an optimised design and forms the framework for further progress. This paper investigates the impact of this method on the resulting design and attempts to provide an idea of what costs have been paid in achieving an optimised design with minimal difficulty. It also makes some suggestions at what steps could be taken to reduce the cost
