Abstract
In this paper we propose a new concept of waveguide orthomode transducer that leads to a design without RF-path crossings. The proposed compact design requires only two layers with standard waveguide cross section for the full power combination network. The design is based on a non-conventional use of the turnstile junction combined with two magic tees to separate two orthogonal polarizations. A preliminary design is presented in Ku-band to demonstrate the concept. Good performances are achieved over a large bandwidth.
