Integration of photovoltaic convertors into the public electricity supply network

This paper is a review of the subject only. Converters designed specifically for photovoltaic installations have some special requirements particularly where the intention is to generate directly into the public supply network. In addition, the question of safety overrides all others. The characteristics of photovoltaic installations are discussed, showing how the various requirements of the source, the power system etc. are met, leading to an understanding of the converter design
