Abstract :
Nowadays, diverse means of communication and multiple sorts of content are widely deployed. End users require not only service accessibility anywhere, but also transparent, personalized service adaptation to their overall context, as well as to any device and network they are using. Moreover, given the different types of mobility (user, terminal, network, and service) it is increasingly challenging to assure the dynamic adaptation of a userpsilas preferences according to location and activity. Besides these requirements, the user also wishes to be able to access the whole range of services offered in an environment. In this new telecommunications panorama, fulfilling these needs has introduced a new design for session management. An end-to-end seamless session, without service breakdowns must be provided. In this paper, we propose a VPIN (Virtual Private Information Network) based on an information model. The VPIN acts as a knowledge base for a user session. It enables the self-management of all the components in ambient networks. The conceptpsilas feasibility is illustrated and studied through a global use case.
