Abstract
This paper focuses on a method to reduce harmonic distortion and to improve power factor in electrical networks using passive filters. Results from experiments are presented, relating to the development of a 100 kVAr passive filter, installed in a 1.5 MVA substation, with nonlinear loads and normal and emergency supplies (emergency group)
