  • Abstract
This work is concerned with the development of a mathematical model for the simulation of the three-phase synchronous and asynchronous machines in direct-phase quantities (i.e. three-phase co-ordinate), thus obviating the need for any transformation. Numerical solution using a digital computer has also been described and the proposed models in three-phase co-ordinates enable a unified approach to be adopted in the study of both symmetrical and asymmetrical conditions. Digital simulation has been used to study the current-controlled PWM inverter with the indirect vector control method. The simulation program enables representation of all fault conditions but only a three-phase fault is represented
