Abstract :
This article discusses use of IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) based radio relays in brigade-level headquarters. An antenna solution is proposed considering operational benefits (bandwidth, mobility), susceptibility to electronic warfare and directed energy weapons. The paper also describes a method of reducing jamming by two receiver heads: one head receives both the transmitted signal and a jamming signal while the other receives only the jamming signal. Reducing the received signals gives the transmitted signal. The paper shows how this simple principle could be realized with reflective parabolic antennas.
