Abstract :
The authors present the performances of polar quantized decoding for trellis coded modulation on a Rayleigh fading channel. The bit error probability is obtained by simulation for trellis coded M-PSK modulation. Interleaving and space diversity receptions are also employed to compensate performance degradation caused by fading. The influence of phase jitter in the demodulator is also presented. It is shown that the degradation due to polar quantization is small even in a fading channel and significant coding gain can be obtained by using interleaving and simple diversity reception
