Abstract :
An efficient method is presented for estimating the coefficients and roots of an autoregressive scheme where the roots are forced to lie on the unit circle. The spectrum of such a process is naturally interpreted to be a discrete measure and the algorithm is derived from the Lanczos method of approximating eigenvalues of a symmetric matrix. An extension is presented that is biased to detecting frequencies within a given interval.
