  • Abstract
    As for the existing treated methods for the base layer of asphalt pavement, there were at least two main shortages: the one was the lagged technology, the other one was the unseasonable choosing of treated time. In order to develop a new preventive maintenance technologies for the asphalt pavement, in this paper, the authors propose that, before the damages happen or the damages just beginning, a high molecular polymer is injected into the base layer of asphalt pavement. Additionally, the mechanism and characteristic of this new technology, and an example of field application which includes the construction process for this new material were introduced in this paper. The result of this application showed that, after grouting by this high molecular Polymer, the surface deflection of asphalt pavement was obviously reduced so that this technology is feasible for the preventive reinforcement.
