Abstract :
By merging absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) and block truncation coding (BTC), a new three-moment AMBTC (TAMBTC) is presented. A generalized error analysis is presented to explain why TAMBTC is outperformed by AMBTC. More insights on the aspects of computational issues and preserved moments are also discussed
