  • Abstract
    The presented research project is inserted in the energy management field, focusing the attention on the electric power recovery during the train operation in the subway transportation systems, in order to use part of the energy coming from the vehicles during the many braking phases that characterize the vehicle operating cycle. The goal of this research is to find out the best suitable solution in order to exploit the maximum energy available, by deepening the field of the new energy storage technologies, such as the super capacitors, already in development phase in some industrialized countries.
