Abstract :
The performance of a hard-limited combining receiver using fractional tap spacing transversal filters in fast frequency hopping (FFH) systems in the presence of narrowband interference is considered. When narrowband interference affects some frequency slots, the bit error rate (BER) performance of a conventional hard-limited combining receiver has an error floor according to the number of hops bit and total hop number. The authors show analytically and by computer simulation that BER performance of the proposed receiver is superior to that of a conventional hard-limited combining receiver
