Abstract
The adaptive lattice prediction-error filter has been proposed as an alternative for a fixed moving-target indicator (MTI) filter presently used to detect a signal returned from a moving target in the presence of non-moving or slowly moving clutter as encountered in a radar environment. This paper examines the results from applying several forms of the lattice filter to actual data from an operational surveillance radar under a wide variety of environmental conditions. These results are compared with those obtained using the existing fixed filter for this radar (with the same input) and conclusions on their relative suitability are presented.
