Abstract
Past work provided a measure of the intelligibility of LPC Vocoders on certain noisy military platforms. This paper extends the data base to include measurements made on more platforms, and provides LPC intelligibility measurement made using microphones that were mounted in oxygen masks. LPC intelligibility improvements made possible by puff screens, noise shields, and second order gradient microphones are also discussed.
