Abstract :
The method used in showing that min (n+q, (q+1) m+q) closed loop poles of an nth order linear time invariant system (m outputs, l inputs, m > l and equal controllability indecies can be generically arbitrarily assigned by employing a linear time invariant, proper, output feedback compensator of order q, is extended to the case of unequal controllability indecies. It is also shown how additional poles can be assigned by suggesting a sequential procedure.
