Abstract :
The paper presents a low cost FACTS-based dynamic voltage regulation and self adjusting modulated power filter, capacitor compensation and Dynam scheme (MPF-CC-DVR) topology and pulse width modulation switching strategy developed by the first author controlled by self adjusting dynamic tri-loop error driven controller intended in low voltage (below 1 KV) residential, commercial and small industrial nonlinear type loads with substantial mix of nonlinear hybrid arc type, converter type and temporal inrush motorized loads. The proposed low cost modulated compensator and filter scheme is intended for load bus voltage stabilization, power quality enhancement, efficient power transfer and voltage flicker control. Nonlinear type and temporal inrush motorized loads are currently mushrooming in use especially in multitude of consumer electronic devices, commercial and small industrial applications and industrial process control rectifiers and adjustable speed motor drives.
