Abstract
The Buddhist shrine, WuTai Mountain in Shanxi, is one of the remarkable world heritages with the distinctive cultural landscape made by the various layouts for the complexes of the Buddhist temples. As a result of the different ways of the layout, the natural characters are more definite due to the existence of the temples, on the other hand, the complexes of the temples become more vivid as positioned following the undulating hills. By analysing and summing up the characteristics of the layouts, we can figure out the patterns of them for the Chinese traditional religious architectures and enlighten the contemporary master planning as well.
