Abstract
This paper is concerned with studying a new localization algorithm named VAH-DV-Hop for wireless sensor networks (WSNs), based on DV-Hop, which can reduce power consumption and omit any extra hardware. This algorithm figures out two problems, routing void problem is partly settled by the angle-method researched and the diversified average hop distance is used to estimate the distance from unknown nodes to anchors. The new method leads to better localization accuracy. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.
