Abstract
A review of developments in superconducting motor technology is presented. Features of current concepts which have been demonstrated are presented along with future concepts which are on the drawing board. Background information is provided and aspects of the superconducting motor which are critical to its success are discussed. The status of the motor technology, and the high temperature superconducting wire technology as it applies to motors, is presented
