Abstract
Multihop Wireless Networks (MWNs) have been becoming overload to support the users in high Quality of Experience (QoE) due to the growing number of their demands for video streams. Replication strategies can be implemented to solve this scalability; however, the proposed strategies have not been well studied in terms of QoE and storage capacity requirement. In this paper, we propose a combinatorial analysis to derive the explicit expressions for some significant aspects of QoE of received video stream as well as for storage capacity requirement in replication strategies. These expressions are not only used to investigate the performance of the existing replication strategies and evaluate the trade-off between QoE and storage capacity requirement, but also applied to determine a division scheme in order to divide a video stream into a reasonable number of segments for replicating. Finally, the performance evaluations are discussed with results and conclusions.
