Abstract
In a recent paper a time-domain method for the measurement of the parameters of a loudspeaker-driver was described. Here we extend the technique to the more interesting problem of measuring the parameters of a vented-box loudspeaker system. We use the pencil-of-functions technique, and show that all of the loudspeaker system parameters can be determined straightforwardly from a single time-domain test. Results of computer simulation, demonstrating the effectiveness of the two-step approach, namely, identification of the impedance function by pencil-of-functions method and therefrom the computation of the physical parameters, is given in the paper. Results of experimental studies are expected to follow in the future.
