Abstract :
In this paper, we present a new image enhancement algorithm based on Gabor wavelet coefficients fusion. The main idea of the algorithm: firstly we get a set of different directions Gabor features images, by filtering on the image with a set of Gabor wavelet filter; then integrate these Gabor features images under a certain scale by using the weighted average approach; and then, get edge image by thresholding; Finally, get the final enhanced image by adding the image using histogram equalization methods and edge image multiplied by a factor. Experiment results show that the method proposed by the paper can get a better enhanced image.
