Abstract
Performance evaluation is most important aspect to asses the real time behavior of grid-connected solar PV systems. This paper attempts to evaluate the performance of 50KWp Grid-tied Solar PV system located at Shri Vishnu Educational Society, Bhimavaram, India. Performance parameters based on IEC standard-61724 which includes Final Yield (YF), Reference Yield (YR), Performance Ratio (PR) and Capacity Factors (CF) are evaluated on hourly, daily and monthly bases. Actual energy output to the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) is calculated based on system analysis. Additionally the performance evaluation gives a insight on identifying real time operational issues and allows comparison between different existing plants located at various geographically locations. Results substantially validates the actual performance of the solar PV system in real time conditions.
