Abstract
We present the realization of a digital X-ray panoramic system. We analyze accurately the principle of the slot rotational tomography installed on the conventional X-ray panoramic system. This is used to reproduce the same phenomena, obtained on the silver film, on a digital sensor. The exposure technique allows one to define a sliced image including the maxilla-facial structures of a patient. On this new system, only the film is replaced by a CCD imaging chip, used in the time delay integration (TDI) mode. An evaluation of this system is proposed by measuring the usual parameters of the obtained image. For this purpose, we used a phantom constituted by small balls of steel
