New vision of the real average load of transformers in the Latin America’s distribution networks

After visiting and analyzing cases in over 50 Energy Distribution Companies in Latin America, the author wants to show in this paper the reality of transformers average load in the Latin American distribution networks. A reality is shown for average load below 20% and poor exploitation of distribution transformers as fixed assets. It proposes a methodology for transformers sizing and principles to govern in a conveniently operated network.
