Abstract :
One can estimate the state u(T,x) for a one-dimensional Stefan problem from observation of the motion x = s(t) of the free boundary over an arbitrarily short time interval: T0 < t < T. The estimation map ES: s(??) ?? u(T, ??) is continuous (say, to L2) if the observation is topologized in H1.
