Optimal inputs for the estimation of the parameters of an RLC circuit: A tutorial approach

Mehra´s algorithm for the determination of optimal inputs for parameter estimation in the frequency domain is considered. A tutorial presentation is given using a direct search method for the determination of the optimal inputs for low order systems. A simple RLC circuit is used as an example. Numerical results are obtained and compared using Mehra´s algorithm and the direct search method.
