Abstract :
Traditional Chinese painting is a unique art form and highly be regarded. Traditional Chinese painting consists of four parts: main body, seal, calligraphy and ´liubai´. These four parts have many specific semantics. So the extraction of those parts is an urgent task. In this paper, a novel algorithm to remove ´liubai´ area from the traditional Chinese painting image is proposed. The idea of this algorithm is based on the Top-down image segmentation method. Also consider the color and structural factors information in the traditional Chinese painting images. This algorithm can be divided into two phases, find the ´liubai´ area´s color information and cover the whole image with the specific thesold. Experiments show that this method is effective.
