Abstract :
The procedures utilized for retuning damping controllers in the Brazilian North-South interconnection are described. The methodology adopted reflects the experience gained by CEPEL, under contract with CAMMESA, Mercados Energeticos SA and ABB/Argentina, in a study for the stabilization of the Argentinean interconnected system. Emphasis in the procedures is given to advanced small-signal stability analysis and linear controller design tools currently in use
