Abstract
The curriculum for the training of electrical engineers at the Department of Electrical & Communications Engineering, Moi University, Kenya, is discussed in this presentation. The paper discusses the introduction of the 8-4-5 Educational system in Kenya, the rationale behind this, and the emphasis on a practical graduate engineer with the inherent capability to adapt to local demands and to new challenges of the future. It also discusses the challenges facing the Universities as they grapple with this new programme
