Abstract :
Human tracking by laser range scanner has generally an occlusion problem. In this paper, the authors propose a method for tracking targets under occlusion using a laser range scanner and accelerometers in mobile phones which are carried by targets. Targets gait patterns are estimated by accelerometers which are carried by them, when targets enter in occlusion area. These estimated gait patterns assist in estimating virtual targets positions and movement vector under occlusion. Our experimental results demonstrated the potentiality of contribution to human tracking of proposed method under occlusion on linear basic patterns.
