Abstract :
Asynchronous transfer mode gives network users the possibility to accommodate heterogeneous traffic with characteristics vastly different from conventional telephone traffic. These networks are not fully described by formal traffic models and assumptions, such as Poissonian sources. On the other hand fuzzy logic methods are capable of extracting the inherent characteristics of a system without the need for a priori assumptions as to network characteristics
