Abstract :
Audio Coding is widely used in telecommunications, computers, and electronic products and so on. Different audio Coding scheme has different compression efficiency and different vendors have different compression standards. This paper introduces MPEG-1, MPEG-2 AAC audio coding standards and principles. They, the mainstream of today´s audio coding standards, is based on the psychoacoustic theory. They makes full use of the auditory characteristics and only transmit the information that human ear can feel in order to compress the encoding and decoding. According to the MPEG-2 AAC encoding and decoding compression Algorithm, an audio coding system is designed with the system flow chart.
