Abstract
This paper describes some possible measures to manage the salt contamination impact on overhead transmission lines located near the cost line. The impact regarding both the one on the insulator ability to maintain the energized line insulated from the ground and the other, the impact on the structural elements as corrosion of them. The measurement procedures were shown. There is also a proposal for a composite tower design as a way of handling the corrosion impact coming from the salt contamination.
