Abstract :
This paper presents dynamic stability analyses of a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) array subject to random fluctuations due to cloudy weather. The eigenvalue scheme is employed to examine dynamic performances of the studied grid-connected PV array under random generating conditions. Time-domain simulations based on a nonlinear model of the studied system as affected by time-varying PV generating mode are also performed. It can be concluded from the simulated results that the proposed eigenvalue method and dynamic simulated scheme can be effectively employed to determine the dynamic stability margin of a grid-connected PV system under random fluctuations
