Abstract
Radio links in cellular mobile communication systems are fading and interference bounded. The deterioration of the radio channels due to fading and interference increases the actual traffic that a system has to cope with. This has the consequence of a reduced availability and, hence, a degraded quality of service. The paper addresses this problem by introducing virtual arrivals and virtual departures into the queueing model. By this means the quality of a nondeterministic channel, such as those of mobile communications, is taken into account. The result can be used for network design in cellular mobile communications
