Abstract :
Although the importance of a thorough grounding in measurement within undergraduate engineering courses is well appreciated and probably beyond dispute, specialist measurement science courses at undergraduate level are rare. It is not clear why a discipline that is so fundamental to engineering education (some would say all education) does not form a core topic of every undergraduate course. Reasons for this are examined. Consideration is given to how measurement science and technology education should be taught and the requirements of those being educated
