Abstract :
This paper used Taihu Lake as an experimental area to study the application of 6S (Second Simulation of the Satellite signal in the Solar Spectrum) model used for atmospheric correction of MODIS image. The principle, procedure and the selection of input parameters of the 6S atmospheric correction model were introduced. And the corrected result of water leaving reflectance was computed by the use of 6S model and related parameters. The result data after atmospheric correction was analyzed and was compared with the data before atmospheric correction and insitu measured data. The results showed that the model could effectively remove the influence of atmosphere from MODIS data, and retrieved water surface reflectance. Finally the corrected remote sensing reflectance was used to retrieve the chlorophyll-a (Chla) concentration distribution in Taihu Lake. The concentration distribution of Chla was consistent with the actual situation. The model could be used for remote sensing water quality in MODIS image preprocessing.
