Abstract :
Severe multipath propagation which results in frequency selective fading is one of the major obstacles for underwater acoustic (UWA) communications. With the development of the broadband communication system, ortho gonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system design has been focused upon in recent years. However, Doppler spread always result in severe intercarrier interference (ICI). In this studty, pulse shapes are proposed to reduce the ICI caused by the frequency offset. Several pulse shapes have been employed to reduce ICI, and simulations results demonstrate that the linear pulse has improved perfor -mance in reducing ICI due to the frequency offset.
