Abstract :
MDBA is usually used as the chain extender in the production of green solvents. The wastewater generated in its production contains 2-butyl alcohol, butanone, sodium carbonate, p-TSNa and other additives. The 2-butyl alcohol was extracted back by adding the RA-2 extractant into the kettle residue and then the wastewater was directly treated by the pressurized biological oxidation process with the retention period of 7hs. The CODCr of the effluent water was 91mg/L which meets the national first-level standard of the wastewater discharge.
