Abstract :
The unstability of EBT indicator solution results in the inaccuracy of the determination of calcium and magnesium. In this paper, surfactants are applied in EBT indicator solution, through spectrophotometric method, a stable EBT solution is obtained, and the precision of calcium and magnesium determination in water was improved. Moreover, surfactant PVA is used to determine calcium in the water of high content magnesium, this can avoid the adsorption of magnesium hydroxide to calcium and improve the accuracy.
