Abstract
With the ever-increasing incidence of sick building syndrome (SBS) and allergic asthma related to sick building due to the usage of hygiene unqualified building decoration materials, much importance has been attached to the control and monitoring of their use. Small environmental climate test chamber is the recommended and standard equipment used to test and evaluate organic pollutants released from building and decoration materials. Firstly, the design indexes are given according to the testing standards of decoration materials issued by China and other Western countries in this paper, and then the detail design is presented based upon these indexes, including the overall structure, electric control principle, control software and data processing software. The small environmental climate test chamber developed in this paper has been applied successfully in many preventive medical institutes and environmental monitoring units in China.
